Cambridge Teacher’s Day 2026
Teaching for Tomorrow
Empowering Teachers and Learners in an AI-Driven World
Beyond language. Beyond technology. Towards meaningful learning.
The world of English language teaching is changing rapidly. AI and emerging technologies are transforming how we learn, communicate, work and access information. But what does this mean for teachers and learners?
Join Cambridge Teacher’s Day 2026 for an inspiring and practical journey into the future of English language teaching — exploring the skills and competencies learners need beyond language, the role technology should play in education, and how teachers can use AI with purpose while keeping pedagogy and human connection at the heart of learning.
Meet the speakers

The future may be driven by technology, but it will still be shaped by people.
Learners need new skills to navigate that future. Teachers need new skills to guide them through it. And AI needs to be used with purpose rather than simply because it is available.
At Cambridge we believe that educators should not use technology for technology's sake, but think about innovation guided by pedagogy, evidence, and human expertise.
That’s why we have put together three great sessions that will inspire all participants.
With Cecilia Harmer.
AI can write, translate, summarize, create images, and even hold conversations. So, what remains uniquely human, and what should we be preparing learners for?
This session explores how the skills that make us human are becoming increasingly valuable in an AI-driven world. Drawing on the Cambridge Life Competencies Framework, we will examine the role of these skills in helping learners navigate an uncertain future.
Focusing on the unique strengths of the language classroom, we will look at practical ways to embed these competencies into everyday teaching while continuing to develop language proficiency. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of why language education matters more than ever, and how ELT teachers can help learners become not only effective language users, but also confident, adaptable, and responsible citizens in a rapidly changing world.

With Tamires Gama.
Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way teachers plan lessons, create materials and engage learners. But effective teaching begins long before the prompt. In this practical session, we explore how English language teachers can use AI strategically while keeping pedagogical purpose at the center of every decision. Rather than focusing solely on tools, participants examine how learning objectives, learner needs and sound methodology can guide the use of AI throughout the planning process. Through real classroom examples and live demonstrations, participants discover ways to save time, generate ideas, adapt materials and design more engaging learning experiences — without compromising educational quality. This session is designed for teachers who want to move beyond simply asking AI to create activities and learn to use it as a thoughtful teaching partner.

Pedagogy first.
Technology second.
People at the center.
This Teacher’s Day, take some time to look ahead.
Get inspired by international perspectives, discover practical ideas for your teaching, and reflect on how we can prepare our learners — and ourselves — for a rapidly changing educational landscape.
You’ll leave with new perspectives, practical strategies and ideas to explore in your classroom.
And, of course, this is also a chance to celebrate you — the teachers who make learning possible. Happy teacher’s Day!
