Cambridge English Qualifications for Young Learners
Prepare students for a bright future
Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers - a child’s first, fun steps in English

Why choose Cambridge English Qualifications for Young Learners?
Develop the four key skills
Backed by extensive research into how children develop language skills, these exams ensure children’s learning is focused on the key communication skills, through familiar topics. Learners develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in context.
Grow their confidence in exams
With Cambridge English Qualifications, students can climb the CEFR scale to C2, using their qualifications as proof of their language ability. Taking the exams for young learners at the earlier levels helps children become familiar and comfortable with the experience.
Make progressing their English fun
Preparing for and taking these exams is designed to be a fun, motivating experience for children. Official preparation courses and practice material give you the tools to teach to the appropriate language level, through activities that children enjoy. The exams themselves don’t feel like exams at all!

The first level of exam for young learners represents Pre A1 on the CEFR scale and introduces children to everyday written and spoken English. At this level, children can spell their name and say how old they are.
The second level of exam for young learners represents A1 on the CEFR scale and progresses to simple conversational English. At this level, children can answer questions about their everyday life.
The third level of exam for young learners represents A2 on the CEFR scale and progresses further to building and linking sentences. At this level, children can talk about things they’ve done.
No pass or fail
Cambridge English Qualifications for Young Learners are an opportunity for each child to show how they’ve developed and what they can do. Every child receives a certificate, with shields to recognise their achievement in all four key skills.
