Welcome to our Online Cambridge Day 2026! We're delighted to have educators from around the world joining us for this special event. In these next few moments, we'll set the stage for a day full of inspiration, practical ideas, inspiration and networking.

Presenter: Graham Seed
Imagine English education as a living ecosystem – dynamic, interdependent, and constantly evolving. In this talk, I’ll explore how Cambridge nurtures this ecosystem through a holistic approach to language assessment: both in the classroom and in more formal test-taking environments. We’ll look at which fertile conditions learners need to grow and then prove their skills: practical, real-world language enriched by life competencies that help them flourish in an increasingly digital world. We’ll dig into how teachers and schools are the important root networks, supported by professional development tools that strengthen learning and assessment outcomes. And on a broader level, we’ll see how collaboration at national and international levels cultivates quality language education to create thriving landscapes.

Presenter: Anne Robinsonn
‘Puzzle out’ means thinking hard to discover or understand something. Getting students to slow down, think hard and notice things about language will hopefully help them to learn and remember it. Hopefully too, young learners will then become independent language explorers and detectives in the future. In this webinar, we’ll do some puzzling out ourselves.

A brief 5-minute break as we transition between speakers. Our next online session will begin shortly. Please take a moment to refresh and prepare for the upcoming presentation

Presenter: Jiri Horak
Have you ever worked with a colleague who could explain complex ideas clearly, listen with empathy and confidently lead a group discussion? That person was probably using strong oracy skills—skills our learners also need to thrive in school, the workplace and life. Yet helping our learners develop these transferable skills can be challenging. It requires a clear and purposeful approach that we can apply regularly in our English classes. In this webinar, we’ll explore how oracy skills can be developed through practical classroom activities that enhance learners’ physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.

Presenter: Ben Goldstein
Inclusive practice is about creating the right atmosphere and building a sense of trust and belonging in class. Learners will feel more themselves and be more engaged if this safe space is created. This session will offer tips and takeaways for designing that environment for all learners, regardless of their differences and proficiency. Ideas for encouraging peer learning, developing empathy and building a sense of community will be covered, among others.

In the slot from 12.40 to 13.10, we're offering three concurrent sessions:
If you registered for Session One [ Motivating young learners through digital assessment] - please stay in our main conference webinar room.

Sessions Two [ Overview of Linguaskill and Cambridge English Skills Test ] and Session Three [ Using Own It! to explore Global Citizenship] will be hosted in separate dedicated webinar rooms - please use the second Zoom webinar link you received. You will find it in a separate message from Zoom sent to you after form registration.

Concurrent Session One Presenter: Donya Estafanous
Motivating young learners through digital assessment
How can we make assessment not just a checkpoint, but a source of motivation for young learners? Digital tools offer opportunities not just to track progress, but to ignite curiosity, boost confidence, and celebrate success. By introducing interactive formats and creative ways for learners to show what they know, assessment can turn into an engaging part of the learning journey. In this session, we’ll explore how Cambridge English Qualifications Digital for young learners can transform assessment into a positive, motivating experience. You’ll discover practical resources and classroom activities designed to keep learners inspired and eager to improve.

Concurrent Session Two Presenter: Dr Hisham AlSaghbini
Overview of Linguaskill and Cambridge English Skills Test
This session provides a strategic overview of Linguaskill and the Cambridge English Skills Tests, two internationally trusted assessment solutions developed by Cambridge University Press and Assessment. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how these tests support accurate, fast, and reliable measurement of English proficiency across educational, professional, and institutional contexts.

Concurrent Session Three Presenter: Dr Dan Vincent
Using Own It! to explore Global Citizenship
The world has never been more interconnected than it is today. The teenagers we teach already participate in social media networks that are global in scale, watch streaming content from all four corners of the globe, play online games that bring together players from different countries and different time zones, and wear fashions that would not be out of place anywhere. But how much do these young people really understand how the decisions and choices they make in their part of the planet affect those living elsewhere? The Own It! course, especially through its Around the World and Project pages, offers plentiful opportunities for teachers to help raise students’ awareness of the role they can play as global citizens. In this webinar, we will look at ways in which the course can be used to this end and a number of activities that can be done in class to help develop global citizenship.
