From 6 to 9 October 2025, over 200 primary teachers took part in four inspiring days of professional development across Turin, Monza, Naples and Catania, exploring how technology can make English teaching more engaging, inclusive, and connected to young learners’ worlds.

Session 2: Exploring the digital world with young learners   

Today’s digital classrooms offer exciting opportunities to use gamification and digital assessment techniques. Teachers can boost motivation and create more engaging lessons with the use of their digital toolbox. This session will share practical, classroom-ready ideas that connect exam preparation with playful, interactive activities as well as exploring how we can use AI to support us as teachers. Discover how technology can make language learning more meaningful and enjoyable for young students, while building the digital skills they need in a connected world.

Sarah Ellis

Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Senior Assessment Services Manager

Sarah Ellis is Senior Assessment Services Manager at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, based in Bologna. With a strong background in teaching, teacher training, and exam management, she supports institutions and educators across Italy.

She has delivered CELTA and DELTA courses and contributes to the Cambridge Assessment English Teacher Support Programme, offering resources and professional development for teachers at all levels.

Sarah’s interests include assessment literacy, digital skills, and innovative teaching practices. She is a passionate advocate for teacher empowerment and learner success.

Mark Meredith

Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Professional Learning and Development Trainer

Mark Meredith is a Professional Learning and Development Trainer at Cambridge with over 14 years' experience in English language teaching, teacher training, and curriculum development. He designs and delivers impactful training programmes and international webinars, supporting educators through inclusive, innovative approaches.

Mark has worked extensively across Spain and Portugal, focusing on digital collaboration, fair assessment, and inclusive classroom practices. He holds a Trinity DipTESOL and an MA in TESOL from Lancaster University.

No, the event is completely free of charge. Explore the programme and book your seat. Places are limited!

You can register for multiple events. However, places are limited and content will be the same for all the events occurring in the same season. For this reason, we recommend that you register for the event only, allowing other teachers to participate.

You may need to check your junk folder, as unfortunately some of our emails end up there.

Our in-person events are not recorded as we want to encourage active participation and networking among teachers. If you're unable to attend one of our events, don't worry, we will certainly organise more in your area soon!

Yes, a certificate of attendance will be shared with you shortly after the event. Participating to Cambridge events nationally always entitles you to a Certificate of attendance valid for “Esonero ai Servizi”.
