British Council IELTS and Cambridge English Recognition Teams are running an in-person Higher Education Stakeholder seminar in Helsinki, Finland.

It is completely free to attend, but registration before the event is required. The seminar is aimed at staff working in the admissions office or international office, or staff involved in English Language proficiency test requirement decision-making at a university or college.

Interactive sessions will cover the following topics:

• an overview of IELTS and Cambridge English Qualifications (including C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency) – covering test and exam format, scoring system and content
• test validity and reliability - why these things are important when accepting an English language test
• standard setting – a chance to see what the IELTS band scores/Cambridge English Scale scores really mean in terms of student performance
• security – an overview of the many aspects of test security
• how both IELTS and Cambridge can work with you to attract the best and brightest students to your university

The seminar will be held on Tuesday 14th May 2024 at the Scandic Grand Central - Helsinki, Finland.

Registration is from 09.30 until 09.45 and the day concludes at 15.30. Lunch and refreshments are included.
